Valentine’s Day Date Ideas to Make It One to Remember

Now that Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, it’s high time that you start making plans on what to do!

Sure, chocolates and flowers on Valentine’s Day are well appreciated, but how about something priceless like quality time? It’s never a bad idea to experience new things together, like trying out a new restaurant, going for a run, joining a pottery class, having a stay-at-home movie night, or a spontaneous road trip.

The thing is, novelty in relationships is what keeps it moving.

Whether you’re about to have your first date or your fifty-first, coming up with Valentine’s Day date ideas can be a challenge, but I got you. Believe me when I say you need to hear tips on Valentine’s Day date ideas from a woman who has actually been on one a few times.

Not that I’m a serial dater, mind you. What I’m going to share is based on my personal experience as well as observations I’ve made from friends and acquaintances.

Without further ado, here are 5 date ideas for Valentine’s Day that will undoubtedly make the day more memorable (whether or not you two end up being the endgame).

Make Valentine’s Day a Highlight With These Date Ideas

Feel free to scan through and choose any of the following that suits you and your date’s idea of fun, as well as your budget:

Book a Trip

Make Valentine’s Day more than just a regular celebration. Instead of going on a typical restaurant date, plan a trip somewhere neither of you have been to before. This is a perfect way to surprise your girlfriend, especially if you both usually just spend it around town. Upon arrival, spend the night away from your usual routines and snuggle up for some quality time.

Go Camping

Take some time to take in nature’s artwork and spend it with the one you love. What distinguishes this date idea is that it’s not the typical all-chill one in which you both need to dress up and sit modestly. It requires both of you to move in order to set up a tent, gather firewood, hike, and put your survival skills to the test. The best part? You both get to stargaze at night, away from polluted areas.

Play Couple Card Games

Aside from spending the day together going out and about, why not also have a sit-down and make the night more interesting by playing couple card games? There’s a variety of card games to choose from, so there’s no reason for you to not pick at least one. You can choose from do-or-drink cards, intimacy decks, and even Cards Against Humanity! These games aren’t a substitute for therapy but rather great ways to connect with one another on a lighter note.

Go to a Photo Booth

Personally, this is among my top favorite things to do on a date. As a sentimental woman who finds comfort in collecting photos, having a strip of photos with your significant other to remind you of that day is a sweet and cute gesture. Couples now have the habit of placing their photo strips at the back of their phones, just as our grandparents did with their wallets or lockets. If I were you, I’d start thinking about cute and creative couple photo poses now.

Sip and Paint

This date idea has been gaining popularity recently and I’m not complaining at all. This is open to all couples, regardless of whether you have the magical hands of an artist or not. The main point is that you get to express your creativity, brainstorm with your lover, or surprise them while sipping wine or coffee. Totally relaxing, maybe just a little messy. A fun idea would be to paint each other’s portrait!

Make sure you note all these Valentine’s Day date ideas down so that if you happen to choose one this year, you can save the others for next time. Besides, being extra romantic should not be limited to one occasion per year; you CAN have these checked off by the end of the year!
