Speaking of adventures, it’s almost summertime in the Philippines! And what better way to enjoy the scorching heat of the sun? At least for some Filipinos, rather than fight the heat, they go to the beach and embrace it.

Moalboal is home to a lot of beautiful beaches — both public and private. It is the go-to destination for some primarily because of the beaches and recreational activities one can enjoy. Secondly, its location is best if you want to tour around and enjoy every place in Southern Cebu.

What are the famous beaches in Moalboal?

Of all the beach resorts in Moalboal, TWO are at the top of the list of the most visited beaches. These are Basdaku and Basdiot.

Basdaku, locally known as White Beach, is famous for its abundant white sand that leads you to crystal clear seawater. It has a long shoreline, so you can peacefully lie on the sand, read your favorite book, and top up your tan before enjoying a dip in the beautiful waters.

Basdaku is enjoyed by almost everyone. Whether it be a family gathering, a trip with friends, a company outing, or a date, Basdaku is one of their top choices. The place is also best enjoyed during the day.

Basdiot, also known as Panagsama Beach, is another famous destination for beachgoers. Though its shoreline has rocks with shallow sand, what awaits you here is the clear seawater and the wonders that lie underneath that you can enjoy watching all day.

What was that famous recreational trip that everybody was so hyped up about?

When in Moalboal, make sure to bring some snorkeling gear or rent one. Your trip to this famous municipality would be a lot more exciting if you experience snorkeling.

Cebu has stunning dive sites and thriving marine life that are recommended to tourists, and Pescador Island is one of them.

It’s part of the municipality of Moalboal, located on the Tañon Strait. It is famously known for its diverse and rich marine sanctuary.

It is a twenty-minute boat ride from Basdiot or Panagsama Beach. Diving deep on Pescador Island is an adventure you shouldn’t miss.

When you dive down in Pescador, you will have the chance to see protected soft corals and a variety of marine species. You can swim with them and feed them.

Another amazing experience to look forward to on Pescador Island is the famous “sardine run,” where you will be surrounded by a massive school of swimming sardines. Millions of sardines swim near the island and you can see them at any angle. It is truly breathtaking.

Beaches are happy places, and so is Moalboal, Cebu. If you decide to go, make sure to bring with you your travel essentials and expect to experience a fantastic journey that is worth the time and energy.
