Finding Love After A Certain Age
How many single men are in the United States alone?
Fifty million.
That’s roughly half of the country’s male population, and they are mostly guys between the ages of 30 and 65.
Many guys believe that by the time they reach a certain age, they will have found a woman or, at the very least, be married. But not everyone is that lucky.
According to a recent survey conducted on American adults, many — if not most of them — state that dating has become more difficult in the last decade. Searching for the right woman — even more so. This situation has been linked to a variety of reasons but the bottom line here is that a large majority of American males are single and lonely.
Why is it so difficult?
There are a number of reasons why men struggle with dating. Most of them attribute it to how difficult American women have become.
Unrealistic expectations
Many local women have high expectations for the guys they want to date. This attitude, whether empowered by feminism or their own pursuit of happiness and while absolutely within their rights and personal freedoms, comes with easy dissatisfaction. Their ideal partner is a man their age, who is wealthy, successful, loyal, and who is also attractive.
Unfortunately, men are not the fictional beings that many ladies assume they are. As a result, if the man does not meet their expectations, he is off the table.
The men aren’t attractive enough
Poor looks, being short, or being bald are the most frequent reasons why American women reject men. Much of today’s society relies primarily on physical attraction, so chances for those who are unfortunate enough to not be born pretty are low.
They also can’t keep up with modern dating
Dating today is very different from dating in the past, and some guys are having difficulty keeping up. In some ways, internet dating is an online version of speed dating. A man meets a girl digitally, they communicate for a while, learn about each other’s interests, and then move on if they don’t click.
Older guys, understandably, seek something more serious. Sadly, most American women are not only selective, but they also adapt to modern dating far more quickly than most older men.
The Solution
So they turn to foreigners. According to a 2013 research on married people, one out of every five households includes one American and one foreigner. This equates to around 21% of the overall married population. Around 40% of these foreign wives are from Latin America, with the remaining percentage coming from both Europe and Asia.
This appeal of having a spouse from another country is based on the fact that we all have distinct preferences. Some men simply prefer to date ladies from other countries. Others desire to marry a foreign woman because she has exotic features, a family-oriented mentality, and characteristics that are not common among western women.
Whatever your personal preferences, you have a better chance of finding a suitable woman abroad than in your own country.
It isn’t too late
Being past the standard age of marriage doesn’t mean you can’t find love. It just means you have to look elsewhere for that one special woman you could spend the rest of your life with.
