Is the Filipino Woman You Are Dating the Right One for You?
If you are dating a Filipina, then you might be wondering if she’s really the right one for you. She could be talking about wanting to get married. Perhaps she wants to start a family. Or maybe you’re the one who decided to settle down. You certainly don’t see yourself still single and dating in the future.
Right now, you might be in a semi-serious relationship with your Filipino girlfriend. She’s kind, selfless, respectful, and is a good person. Additionally, she takes care of you, might prepare you breakfast in the morning, and even do the household chores when you’re busy. There’s nothing about her that you can complain about.
Life seems perfect. But how sure are you that she’s the one?
She initiates contact
In Filipino dating culture, it’s customary for single women to act conservatively at the beginning of the relationship. So at first, she will expect you to take initiative when you’re pursuing her.
But once she becomes more familiar with you, she might take the initiative to interact with you. She’ll ask you how your day was, or what you’re doing right now.
As your relationship gets closer, she begins to dote on you. She starts being more naturally talkative, acting almost clingy with you.
For many Filipino women, their love language can be expressed through acts of service. That means she might start cooking meals for you, cleaning the house if you’re busy, or generally trying to be helpful around you.
This isn’t subservience as most men might think, but simply how many Filipino women show their affection for someone they love.
She protects you
Filipinos are protective of people they like. So if your Filipina girlfriend is protective towards you then consider yourself lucky.
For example, she’ll be concerned about your health and well-being. She might often ask how you’re feeling. Or if you get sick, she might pay a visit to your apartment and nurse you back to health. That’s how highly she thinks of you.
Or sometimes when you’re out together at the local market. A local vendor might take you as an easy mark and sell you an overpriced item. She’ll be there to jump in and stop you from being taken advantage of.
She shares the same goals
Sometimes when you date someone, you think about the future. You’re happy with her and the way things are now, but who knows, she might have her own life goals that don’t completely align with yours.
She might want to pursue a career abroad or doesn’t want to start a family. While you, on the other hand, might want to retire peacefully and build a family.
It’s important to know early on what your goals are in the relationship. Or at least reassess your relationship goals every once in a while to make sure both of you are on the same page.
One undeniable way to tell if she’s the right one for you is when…
…You’re happy when you’re with her.
She makes you smile. You laugh at her jokes and she laughs at yours. When you talk about future plans, she thinks about spending it together with you — as if you’re already a part of her life. The same goes for you.
Just be sure not to take her for granted or provoke her too much. A woman scorned can be a scary thing. When she’s pushed too far, she will definitely not let you get away with it.
