The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a delightful and entertaining film that sends out a hopeful message. No matter how dreary our lives can be, it’s the littlest things that construct how we see life and that the things worthy of appreciation take time and effort to find.

Romantic Comedy: Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011)
Synopsis: Cal Weaver’s (Steve Carell) life is turned upside down when he learns his wife Emily (Julianne Moore) cheated on him and is now asking for a divorce.
Suddenly single at 40, Cal is left clueless in the fickle world of dating. He meets playboy Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling), who decides to take Cal under his wing and teach him the ropes on picking up chicks at bars.
The movie manages to portray love in different ways through the perspective of several characters. What’s great about this movie is the characters are all connected in one way or another, wrapping up the entire plot quite nicely.

Underrated Gem: What We Do in the Shadows (2014)
Synopsis: A New Zealand mockumentary horror comedy film about vampire housemates living together, trying to cope with the complexities of modern day life.
Directed by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi — both of whom also happen to play two of the characters in the movie — the mockumentary shows the perspective of centuries old vampires and their struggle with mundane human aspects — like deciding whose turn it is to do the house chores.
